Hi there!  After moving to the Outer Banks from the DC area "just for the summer" 9 years ago, I  found myself calling it home shortly after. I started Heart of Harlow in 2015 and it became my full time job the next year.  As the owner of Heart of Harlow, I am usually the one you are communicating with, I create the timelines, and I am sometime still the lead on site day of- although now we have an amazing team of coordinators as we grow.  

 

After assisting an Outer Banks floral designer for two years, I discovered the need for day of coordinators as I met countless brides who had already planned their wedding and knew what they wanted their day to look like, but needed someone to get them down the aisle, direct guests and coordinate vendors day of.  I quickly found my calling.  I love connecting with couples and executing their event so all they have to worry about is enjoying their day. 

I have coordinated over 100 Outer Banks weddings, and have traveled as close as DC and as far as the Bahamas.  My hope is to connect with you so you have a professional on your side the day of your wedding. If you want to get to know me more personally, let's connect on Instagram where I over-share my love for weddings, our Blondie girl, and  fixer upper style beach homes.

Megan moved to the Bay Area, California after graduating from East Carolina University with a Communications degree and Spanish minor. Starting her career in premiere services + management for the largest convention facility in Silicon Valley, she quickly excelled in creating great reports with clients and managing teams,  During Covid, Megan moved back to the east coast to be near family (yay for Mandy!) and started taking on lead coordination weddings shortly after.  You can find Megan on the beach in the mornings with here rescue dog Jupiter

Lauren attended East Carolina University and had always had a passion for exploring and new experiences, After college she embarked on a whirlwind of adventures by living and traveling in places as diverse as Saint Thomas, Australia, Colorado, and California. In Northern California she took on a challenging role in banquet management at Indian Springs Resort. Her heart always yearned for North Carolina’s coast and made the Outer Banks home because of our coastal lifestyle. Lauren has worked in the hospitality and wedding industry for years and is now a lead coordinator for the HOH team You can find her at the gym or with her pup Cooper on her days off!

LaURen Abbott
lead coordinator

Whitney grew up in West Virginia and attended Marshall University and worked in the hospitality industry throughout college. Whitney and her husband moved to the Outer Banks and she worked at the Currituck Club as the Private Events Director and Coordinator in Corolla. In her free time you can find her curled up with a good book, dogs by her side or working on her floral preservation business, Beaux's Botanical Designs.

WHITNEY Burroughs

Bri is an Outer Banks native who graduated from George Washington University in 2022.  After tackling the content coordinator role for Bright + Social, she also started helping with admin work and bookings for Heart of Harlow. She works remotely from Peru!
