Christmas is officially less than a week away, and if you're like me you're rushing to get your shopping done, wrap presents and finish decorating before the season we all love is over. The week before Christmas is the most exciting and festive (and crazy) week of the year, so I compiled a few tips for cheap and easy last minute decorating that you can actually accomplish before your guests arrive
Mantle Decor
Red candlesticks make me merry! On our fireplace mantle around Christmas, I switch out the white candlesticks for red, add decorative berries here and there, and group all pillar candles together. I love to thrift for candlestick holders and spray paint them gold or silver, like these pictured here. I am actually an advocate for mixing silver and gold, especially in the holiday season. TIP: Put any metallic items (picture frames, candle holders, etc) together on your mantle mixed in with your Christmas colors for a nice, chunky and full look. red candlesticks here
Table Decor
Pine cones are cute- and free! Leftover ornaments and pine cones placed in glass vases make a cute and super easy tablescape! Instead of spreading out a tablecloth, you can fold it for a loose table runner look. TIP: Use various size glass vases for different heights to create more interest ornaments here | glass vases here
Easy Wreath Glitter poinsettias give me life! Instead of making a new Christmas wreath, I used these clip on poinsettias and extra berries to take my colorful, normal wreath to tinsel town for the month. red berries here | wreath base here
Hostess Gift
I'm sure most people reading this would agree that wine is a great gift ;) Instead of buying a $5 wine bag to take to your next Christmas party, you could buy this cute $1 festive bag from Dollar Tree that has faux fur and a cute print as a hostess gift to dress up your bottle of bubbly. TIP: Add a gift tag to the strings of the bag since a card doesn't fit inside
